Fall Trends
August 24, 2010
These are People’s Style Watch 15 Fall Trends…and my comments on them.
1. Military (which includes Camo) - I’ve never really been a fan of Camo as a “Style”. I feel like it’s disrespectful toward the military. But I do like the military inspired colors (army green, brown, taupe) and military tailoring.
2. Minimalist Makeup - This makes me laugh because don’t you think we would all wear minimalist makeup if we could AND looked and felt good doing it!
Seasoned in LA
July 21, 2009
So, you’re going to LA and you’re a seasoned traveler. By seasoned I mean, like me, you’re not a twenty-something. You’re more like an over forty-something. Even if you’ve maintained your weight, as you’ve aged your body shape has changed.
I can’t get enough of…STRIPES
July 14, 2009
>We’ve all heard it…horizontal stripes aren’t flattering. So, why are all the retailers this season designing so many garments and accessories with stripes? The answer is that, if worn properly, stripes can work for you. If you are petite, probably a bulky sweater with wide stripes wouldn’t be best.
Every woman’s nightmare

SWIMSUIT SEASON!
It doesn’t matter your size, figure or age, everyone has a thing or two that they are self-conscience about regarding their body. I just got back from Vegas and the pool was a daily venue. Wow, so much people-watching. There was every type of bathing suit and body type imaginable. Some women conveyed [...]
Dress Codes
July 3, 2009
Have you ever received an invitation that read, “Black Tie Optional” or “California Casual?” What? I don’t live in California! How do I know what they wear there? And a flurry of questions runs through your head as to what would be appropriate to wear. Behold, your dress code guide below.
ZÜCA!
June 29, 2009
I was recently looking for carry-on luggage for my kids and came across the most unique bags! I needed something that small children could tote through the airport, so the first requirement was that it had wheels. It also had to be able to hold enough for a week-long trip to grandma’s house.
In my search, [...]
Mineral mania
June 9, 2009
I remember as a child visiting my grandmother in New Mexico. We would peruse her jewelry box for little treasures. One constant was turquoise; an opaque, blue-to-green mineral. Honestly, it was never my favorite. But lately I have been swayed into the other direction by it’s funky new designs. Rings, necklaces, embellishments, clothes, shoes…everything seems [...]
Practicality and Sensibility
May 27, 2009
It’s a time of practicality and sensibility. As I peruse the pages of the Nordstom and Neiman catalogs, I get pangs of desire and disgust.
Summer Trends
May 21, 2009
Depeche Mode is going on tour. GI Joe, Terminator, Star Trek, and Transformers are all in or coming to a theater near you. It’s no wonder some of our favorite fashion hits of the 80s are edging their way back into style. Are you a fan of mini florals and ruffles? Are you so over low-waisted jeans? This may just be your season.
Hats Off to the Kentucky Derby
May 4, 2009
I’ll be honest, I don’t know much about the sport of horse racing. One of our partners’ does. So she can chime in later. But for now, I’ll focus on the actual fashion of the Kentucky Derby. It is an iconic event that brings together the young and seasoned women. OMG! As always, it’s all about the hats. Sit back and enjoy…
