Truly, sex in the city
July 16, 2008
Well, not actually. For a very rare occasion, my cousins and I met for a weekend in Manhattan. We spent the weekend researching luxury hotels, sampling “mixology” and “fusion” cocktails, boutique browsing and a whole lotta people watching. It was fabulous!
I have so many stories and information to share but I’ll start with these few.
One of the days had lunch inside the Neue Galerie Museum on the Upper East Side, at Café Sabarsky, an authentic Viennese café specializing in fine patisserie, such as strudel and Linzertorte. In an age where “to go” coffee is the norm, the silver tray with a beautiful cup of coffee, served with a small glass of water were a welcomed change. Not to mention, the coffee was exquisite. (btw Drew Barrymore was there last time my cousin was there)
After lunch and closing down the boutiques in Nolita, we freshened up, put on our stilettos, smuggled in Cosmos and went to see the quintessential chic movie, Sex in the City…in the city! We could completely identify with the chaos and beauty of life and feel grateful for the love of family and friends. It was perfect.
