ny outsider

I was amused by the fact that there were so many cabs. Why? I don’t know. Probably because my cousins would dart out and run for one (like there weren’t any in sight) And Did I mention they live there? While sitting having a drink at the Mustang Grill, I counted how many cars and how many cabs in a 5 minute period. Four. There were four cars.
Also, there were we would get drivers that would ask us where we were going and then say, “no” and take off. What? What happened to the supply and demand curve? I guess we were on the wrong end of the demand curve.
In my latest trip to NY, I had a few eye-opening experiences.
- Did you know that you can’t turn right on red anywhere in Manhattan.
- There is a no-honking noise policy. Big Fines!
- Garbage is piled high nightly on the street so much so that you can’t walk by and not hold your nose. It’s stinky. I mean really stinky.
