Rubbing Elbows With The ‘I Kissed A Girl’ Girl

Katy Perry
Chicago
I joined a friend to review the play Mary Poppins, Broadway in Chicago. It was excellent but that’s not what this blog is about. My ‘rock-solid’ view of Chicago was shattered that night. We went to a new hot spot, Sunda, for dinner. All was fairly Chicago normal. Upscale place, nicely, conservatively dressed people. After the show we decided to head back there for a night-cap. Whoa, different scene. First of all, there was a mass of people coming out of the doors. Hip, cool people. I was so busy people watching and fashion watching that I missed that I shared a door with Katy Perry.
WTF!!! I WAS LOOKING AT HER SHOES, DAMN IT!
My girlfriend assured me that she looked stunning and beautiful; much taller than she thought. After that flurry of excitement, I settled into my bar spot and began people watching again. The women were simply beautiful. The go-to outfit seemed to be tight skinny or boot cut jeans and high, platform heels or boots, cropped jackets and longer shirts. But the women were ‘done up’. Not typical Chicago. Full make-up, hair curled, cleavage-showing women. More LA than Chicago. I enjoyed it thoroughly because there were equally as good looking men accompanying the women. In any case, I’m going back in a week with a friend to check it out again. Yep, I was hot and cold, wishing I had come closer to the cherry Chapstick.
