To bother, or not to bother

My husband and I were in Tahoe last weekend for a wedding and we kept catching glimpses of professional athletes. Apparently they were holding a celebrity golf tournament nearby.
We were walking down to the beach for the ceremony when we literally almost ran into Ray Allen (a basketball player). My husband, who played college basketball, turned into a 12 year old school girl when, a little way down the road, he realized he had his camera in his pocket and started yelling, “Ray! Ray!”
My question is, do celebrities want to be bothered when you see them walking down the road or boarding an airplane or shopping for groceries? I guess I always feel sorry for people who can’t just be themselves but he thinks celebs just live for the attention. What do you think?
